Brace yourself before the wave of blood and lemonade of mothers milk and russian plays and beds we never made brace yourself before the fall take a shot at something real all we want is to be around when it all goes down are we all alone the lines we cross when nobody knows just a prisoner of skin and bones dammed if you do dammed if you don’t armageddon days save yourself if you can exhausted in your faith there is no us there never was just fear that medicates save your tears cause no one cares that world is in your head all we is to find a way when tomorrow breaks I don’t owe you another life I don’t care I’m not on your side hold on to the sky hold on to the night I can’t change the things I’ve done hold on to the flame hold on to the fight tonight its all I’ve got.

Golden State 03:01
I got lost in the delirium I couldn’t read all the chemical signs you paint a picture of deception you played the part of the blushing bride it’s just another sad story I see your face in a different light who are you? can you settle it either or? I go back and forth who are you? what am i still fighting for? I just gotta know tomorrow’s a lonely place and this is not my crime believe in the golden state ‘cause I’ll never change your mind I don’t wanna lie here anymore i don’t wanna feel the way i did before bitter words break the silence promises get erased in time a new day on the horizon it’s getting hard to read between the lines I could never sell you out now you already feel so justified.

Coma 02:50
I’ll finish the mess that you started just slightly above broken hearted my head got a nervous kind of feeling bled white but my hearts still beating I’m living the morning ever after i keep thinking that anythings better time’s ticking i’m ticking like a time bomb you’re already gone but i wanted more operator tell me it’s gonna end hey, hello, how the hell you been? you got me in a coma, but i’m alright about it I’m living the life that you stared just slightly above brokenhearted you think that I’m sleeping  at the wheel it’s all about to get real so slow that it doesn't seem like crashing it’s over but anything can happen now a bullet straight to my heart the lights go out on you  there’s everything to lose.
4.
Wake Up 03:18
Here comes that feeling again pins and needles moving up my spine you call it self absorbed you can call me anything you like surrender that embrace I’ll be there to watch the dive you switched the panic on no ones getting out of here alive Wake up, wake up this is the bitter end You’re past the point of no return Wake up wake up it’s up to you my friend if you've had enough i'll take my turn. Hello miss misery you’re the cause and the effect distorted melodies it's the only way that you connect you don’t know how to connect.
5.
Allison 03:37
It's a bitter wind that blows all these souls for sale shadows fall the river froze too many bridges burned I guess you lost your way another bloody lesson learned There's something in the way this desire radiates let me make make my own mistakes one by one I've been awake for days another line upon my face now I know I watched you break Allison this place you call your home it's filled with empty promises desires burned out long ago you were an easy target all alone with your memories fight back the curse of the brokenhearted Everywhere you go, it’ll follow you closer to the end, I know it will never change Everywhere you go, it’ll follow you just a face in the crowd, when the lights go out it’s a long way home, and nobody knows.
6.
Amnesia 03:44
It disappeared before your eyes I know it eats you up inside to know i’m right worlds collide between the bars I’m getting further from truth of what we are. Tell me what your waiting for I don’t wanna hear you say it’s not my problem can’t you figure out what i want? pull the trigger i’m a loaded gun its almost over I’m not over erase the memory sleeping with the enemy you couldn’t disconnect the thrill my conscience sang the blues while you moved in for the kill time to turn around.
7.
Killing Time 03:18
If you can’t tell your right from wrong how will you find the time? to realize you live the perfect crime if your not willing to confess there’s no one left to blame save your breath in case I change my ways you can’t ignore the warning signs either way it’s killing time another day in paradise now I’ve got you in my sights stop the clocks and change my name you poisoned the approach heaven in the air is hell below now I’m not willing to confess there’s no one left to blame save your breath in case I change my ways.

This time I'm on to you you should know this time it's personal  I’m not immune to your disease and you found a thousand ways to make me bleed and so I start again and think of me however you like you brought me to my knees it's alright I need a reason to believe  until then I'll carry the sorrow. We’ve been living here on borrowed time never knowing if it’s our last mistake draw the battle lines and wait ‘till you break you’ll always be a part of me if I cant find a way, if I cant' change the locks in your heart there’s nothing more to say it’s all gone I need a reason to believe until then I’ll carry the sorrow and I’ll make it a part of myself we’ve been living here on borrowed time never knowing if it’s our last mistake draw the battle lines and wait ‘till you break you’ll always be a part of me there was a way you could’ve changed my mind that was yesterday and yesterday’s gone where does love go when it’s all gone wrong? you’ll always be a part of me what you say and what you do, I don’t believe   cut me open watch me bleed what you say and what you do, I don’t believe   caught you lying through your teeth.

Portland 03:39
We left without goodbye to the city and found a quiet place of our own a little house on the hill yeah, I can see you still your golden hair in the moonlight 40 california stars we dreamed a calm that never came it seems our dreams were not the same    so where are you running to and where have you been my love portland is a long long way from the way we were before it's hard to get close to you and god knows I tried my luck it's been a long long year and I feel like coming home but I've got no place to go I'm looking back at the crash site I can see where you left your mark the nights seem longer now when the suns not up its down when it's the creature and the habit when you really gotta have it it wont be the death of me if you become the enemy. I'm finally waking up.

Everyone stop    nobody knows thats the way that it goes you tell me i'm wrong you can be so cruel you broke the rules I still see you every night brokenhearted eyes I hear the drums from enemy lines pounding out of time they march alone down broken roads no place to go I still see you every night by neon candle light Whats it all about now? this was no ordinary life it can't be undone now love only grows until it dies over the hill a halo of lights burning cities at night we've come this far to be so close hangin' by your rope I still see you every night, twisted alibis.

about

Members of American Hi-Fi have spent much of the last few years playing with Miley Cyrus. Band leader Stacy Jones ranks as her drummer and musical director, and he even found time to sit in the drum seat for Matchbox Twenty. One listen to songs like “Golden State,” “Allison,” or “Portland,” and it’s apparent that no amount of busyness on the parts of the players can lesson their abilities to deliver as American Hi-Fi. If anything, time being at such a premium has forced the group to appreciate the days they do have together. This album is for the indie label Rude Records, and Jones and Co. relax just enough to make a more natural-sounding punk-pop album, with guitars that crunch and harmonies that blend in all the right ways. By the time the album reaches its final cut, “No Ordinary Life,” it’s apparent that American Hi-Fi have made one of the best albums of their career.
