When I was a kid, I used to play with little toy cars,
Smash ‘em up, race them round in the dark,
Now I’m older I play with big boy cars,
But can’t smash them up as it would cost me an arm.
When I was younger I used to hate paying for kid Jack,
To eat sweets, drink fizzy drinks and that,
But now I’m older thats called loans and tax,
I earn money just to fucking pay it back.
As a kid used to hang in my room, with my friends on my Playstation 2
What happened? Yeah.
Now my friends have got happy families and there's me,
What happened? Yeah.
When I was a kid I used to ride on my 'heelies',
Not a care in the world all good feelies,
But now I’m older I have to take on real life stress,
And deal with real life feelings.
When I was a kid, used to hate going school,
Used to hate getting up, brushing my teeth and all,
But now I’m older do you know what I’d give to have it back,
The care free, scare free, life of kid Jack.
As a kid used to hang in my room, with my friends on my Playstation 2
What happened? Yeah.
Now my friends have got happy families and there's me,
What happened? Yeah.
I wish I could go back in time, take myself away from the future,
As a man nothing ever feels right, every day I feel older than I used to.
I wish I spent a little bit more time, preparing myself for the future,
It comes out of nowhere, right? And drags you down lower than you’re used to.
